Winter Hair Care

Honey Rawkyn Deep Conditioning CoWash
If you’re a curly head, you’ve likely heard the term ‘Co-Wash’ before, but how about a deep conditioning co-wash? What is it even? Allow us to fill you in.
In short, co-washing means that you’re replacing your shampoo with a cleansing conditioner that can simultaneously do the job of shampoo (cleanse the hair) and that of a deep conditioner (keep hair extra nourished and moisturized), using a specially formulated product, generally containing cationic surfactants blended with multiple moisturizing and conditioning agents. Such a formulation offers unique benefits to hair health, significantly improving the appearance and strength of your hair. Our Honey Rawkyn Deep Conditioning Cowash is an outstanding example of this technology. It comprises gentle cleansing agents that lightly cleanses the hair, ensuring that it does not strip hair’s natural lipids. The product can help during the winter season to address the cold, dry, and low humidity conditions. Winter has a significant impact on our hair health, and we need a customized product that can specifically address this issue.
Let’s go through the science of our “Honey Rawkyn Deep Conditioning CoWash” and how it can assure healthy hair for our everyday busy lives during winter.

1.Impact of Winter
Winter brings low outdoor temperature and a sudden drop in humidity levels, which induces a significant impact on skin or hairs as they are the most exposed to these conditions. Cold weather conditions withdraw moisture from the scalp and hair, leading to severe dryness. Hair becomes rigid, rough, and extremely frizzy, making it difficult to style and manage. What is needed is a particular product regimen during the winter season to counter such extreme dry conditions. The best solution is to balance the hair moisture level using a customized formulation comprising humectants and oil moisturizer. A typical formulation should also be able to enhance the water uptake to keep hair moisturized.
2.How Does Honey Deep Conditioning CoWash Work?
Honey CoWash is precisely what your hair needs during winter to gently cleanse your hair with its cationic surfactant. Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine is a cationic amine that is neutralized with lactic acid and glutamic acid. It effectively removes the undesired build-up material, debris, and excess of sebum from the hair shaft. Simultaneously, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine detangles hair fibers, aligns the cuticles, and helps ease combing by reducing fiber-to-fiber friction. More importantly, it does not remove the vital lipids and natural oils from the hair surface, ensuring hair hydrophobicity. The formulation contains a series of moisturizing agents that flush lots of water molecules in a double-action mechanism that we’ll call “preserve and add more.” Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice delivers essential plant-based starch molecules to boost the water holding capacity. Vital Ingredients Added Specifically for Winter Conditions
Humectants are organic molecules that demonstrate a natural ability to attract (and hold) water molecules.  Glycerin is an excellent example of this family, having a moderate water-holding capacity. Sorbitol is another sugar-based humectant molecule that works synergistically with glycerin for an enhanced water-holding level. Our CoWash also contains sugar beet derived Betaine. Betaine is a naturally derived simple molecule with an immense water-holding capacity that improves hair moisture content, fixes the frizz problem, and gives hair a natural look. Honey is a natural product containing a super-concentrated sugar system. Its chemical composition comprises sugars, vitamins, mineral, and bioactive molecules that deliver essential nutrients and bio-elements to hair. High sugar content brings more to the “moisture profile” of our CoWash formulation.
In summary, CoWash comprises super moisturizing ingredients that preserve and boost the hair water level and efficiently address the dry and freezing winter conditions.
3. How to Use
Wet your hair using normal temperature water. Divide the scalp area into four sections and apply a small quantity of Honey CoWash to each section of hair. Work thoroughly using your fingers or wide-tooth comb to ensure the product is evenly distributed to each section and each fiber. Let the product do its job, 10-15 minutes is advised, followed by rinse off.

Healthy Scalp leads to Healthy Hair.
Cold, dry weather also affects the scalp surface, causing dryness, which may eventually have an adverse effect on hair health. The foundation of healthy hair is a healthy, clean scalp. Combining our Scalp Scrub with Honey CoWash is a winning combination to do the job. The scrub is a blend of natural oils that relieves scalp nerves, boosts blood circulation to the area, and eliminates any dandruff or product residue from the scalp surface. The scalp scrub gently cleanses the scalp without drying out the scalp. Both the scalp scrub and honey co-wash products work synergistically, where the scrub provides a warm and cozy sensation due to its oil content (Grape Seed Oil & Safflower seed oil blended with apple cider vinegar), while the co-wash adds moisture to the scalp’s surface and hair.
